Preaching Services --
The Word of God is the main emphasis. We believe and preach from
only the King James Bible. (This is mentioned in our doctrinal
statement.) We avoid formal worship services and maintain an
old-fashioned emphasis. We sing from an old-fashioned hymn book
and use no contemporary Christian music for any reason. Invitations
are given at the end of every preaching service and God's people
are encouraged to respond. (The altar is full every service,
praise the Lord!)
Children's Church -- Our
Childrens' Church Program is very well organized. The children,
kindergarten - 3rd grade, are taught character lessons, special
childrens' songs, hymns, Bible stories, and every week, they
hear a sermon on their level from one of our childrens' church
preachers. The messages brought to the children are based on
the Sunday School lesson taught that day in class. Repetition
is the key to learning!
Sunday School -- Every
class, from the Nursery to the Adult Auditorium class, is taught
the same lesson. Each teacher takes the lesson material provided
for them from the pastor, and gears it to the age level of his/her
class. No boy is taught by a lady teacher once he is in the 1st
grade. Women teach the girls, men teach the boys.
Revival Meetings -- Every
year, special speakers are invited to preach. These meetings
include revival meetingas and missions conferences.
Missionary Speakers --
From time to time, guest missionaries will pass through and share
their field of calling with the Timberline Baptist Church family.
